Gordon White – EDGE Co-Founder

Gordon grew up with grassroots motorsports and dirt track racing. He and his wife Brenda have an exciting S52 powered E36 325, our famous ‘EDGE Red’, which has been an autocross regular and more recently has been prepared for track duty.  This car has undergone tones of changes over the last 8 years, look for a build history soon!

 

 

 

Erik Lind – EDGE Co-Founder

Erik has been building and racing cars since before he was old enough to drive. After a move to the West Coast in 2001, Erik found Autocrossing again with his mildly modified M3. That same beautiful stocker gradually became a dedicated race car, even taking 6th at the 2004 Solo2 Nationals with co-driver Richard Vijeh behind the wheel.

In 2005, the project car, originally dubbed ///M344, received a V8 from the 540. Erik then determined that that engine combo was simply not cost-effective, and he began a quest to bring some new, and decidedly Bavarian, flavor to the new SCCA X-Prepared class, stuffing a 6.0 Liter LS2 Corvette engine into his 2400# racer.  The car has since been sold and Erik is now playing with SpeedTrapp Racing’s Spec E30 car at NASA events.

 

Brenda Barnes

Since 2004, Brenda has gone from a mild-mannered beginner to an all-out butt-kicker around the cones. Driving EDGE Red or her 2008 135, she has claimed multiple victories in DSP-Ladies and generally sets times that are hot on the heels of Gordon and other favorites.

Brenda is now driving EDGE Red at local track events and terrorizing the streets in her E93 M3 Convertible.

 

 

Anthony Zwain – EDGE Foreman

Anthony is EDGE’s Shop Foreman and Alignment Guru as well as a very accomplished driver. He has built a formidable E30 that is affectionately called “Frankenstein”. This S52-powered monster has competed in the 2010 (3rd in Class/ 4th Overall) and 2011 25 Hours of Thunderhill, with an amazing 2nd in class finish in 2011–after swapping out a transmission!

Anthony’s other racing accomplishments include 2009 NASA Norcal TTB Co-Champion, Track Records at Thunderhill and Infineon and multiple Spec E30 podium finishes.  He is the GTS3 Champion for both 2010 and 2011and was part of the TTA winning team.

 

 

Sarah Zwain – EDGE Service Writer

Sarah is a key member of the EDGE Team both on and off the track. From autocross in 2006 – 2007, Sarah has progressed through the NASA Pro Racing program and today runs her modified E30 in TT events. Sarah holds a TTB track record at Thunderhill and she won the NorCal TTB class Championship in 2009. Sarah also was part of the TTA winning team in 2011.

Keep an eye out for Sarah at NASA track events throughout the year.

Sam Jackson

Sam has been part of the EDGE extended family for quite some time and joined us formally in 2009 as a lead technician.  In addition to developing his skills with Dinan, Sam has been actively involved in Autocross and HPDE events for years.  Sam is doing a budget build on a 1992 325 that he has upgraded to S52 power, Ground Control Suspension and fat Hoosiers.  He netted 1 TTC win in 2012 and will continue to develop the car to GTS2 specifications where he will co-drive with Will Faules.
